Get in the holiday spirit with these free backgrounds of Christmas in Toulouse
I might be biased, but I think Toulouse is one of the best special place to spend the Christmas season. Since travel isn’t really happening this year – and even those of us who live here need a little extra pick-me-up – I’ve got a special collection of backgrounds that you can use to liven up your next Zoom meeting, your computer desktop background, or just to whet your appetite for travel in 2021. Did you know that Toulouse breaks out over 30 km of lighted garland for Christmas? That’s a lot of sparkle spread out over our already-beautiful “Ville Rose!” I’ve picked my favorite lighted streets, our festive squares, Christmas market scenes from years past – and it wouldn’t be a Taste of Toulouse post without a sighting of the beloved Victor Hugo Market, all decked out for the holidays.
I’m also pleased to be able to include several beautiful images from my dear friend Tegan of @thetravelcurve, taken during the Sweets of the Season tour that debuted in 2019. In-person tours are on hold right now, but you can still experience the magic of Toulouse at Christmas through my French Christmas Market Virtual Experience, running during the month of December 2020. Learn to make Christmas market favorites like vin chaud and aligot, enjoy a tour of my favorite Christmas decorations in Toulouse, and get all your questions answered about Christmas celebrations and food traditions in France!
