Ít's possible to have a safe and fun experience on a Taste of Toulouse food tour.

Creating a safe – and fun – experience for everyone

As the world slowly starts to reopen, the decision to travel – and what to do while you’re traveling – is a very personal one.

We want you to feel comfortable and confident in your decision-making, despite the uncertainties of our current situation. Health and safety shouldn’t have to take a back seat to having an unforgettable experience if we’re doing things right.

Now, more than ever, we are committed to supporting our community by sharing the incredible local businesses and artisans that we are privileged to partner with on our tours. They have worked hard this year in difficult conditions to keep us well-fed during the nationwide lockdown in France. We salute them and want to make sure they are able to continue their work for years to come.

To that end, we pledge to do everything in our power to create a safe experience for our guests, our local partners, and our community. We believe that we’re all in this together and that we each have the power to take steps to reduce the possibility of viral transmission, to protect ourselves and those around us.

That being said, no one can guarantee the elimination of all risks related to COVID-19 and it is up to you to determine whether or not those risks are acceptable to you.

We want to explain our policies regarding health, safety, and trip flexibility and answer any questions you may have. Our tours might look a bit different, but we’re confident you’re going to love them all the same!

We have implemented our health and safety practices in accordance with regulations and guidelines from the French government, as well as the World Travel and Tourism Council’s ‘Safe Travels’ framework and in consultation with various experts.

Status as of October 29, 2020:

Due to the current state of lockdown in France, all of our tours and in-person experiences are paused until further notice. We will update this space as we know more about the duration of the lockdown and when tours will resume. Stay safe and well!

Hand sanitizer is always available on a food tour with Taste of Toulouse.

For Our Guests

100% Refund Policy.

We have always and will continue to honor a 100% refund policy in regards to COVID-19 cancellations. We encourage the option to take a voucher – which guarantees your tour price against future increases and helps us to plan and maintain our cash flow – but we understand that may not always be an option in today’s uncertain world. Either way, you don’t have to worry.

No Hassle Booking and Cancellation.

You can always cancel or change your booking with a simple email up to 48 hours before your scheduled tour. If you need to cancel after that point and it’s COVID-19 related, let us know. We want everyone to stay safe, so if you feel symptoms coming on, please stay home.

Smaller Group Sizes.

We’ve reduced our already small group sizes even further – to 6 people MAX on public tours. We also offer the option of a private tour, if you are not comfortable participating with people outside your household. We allow groups of more than 6 on our private tours.

Symptom-free.

We are asking guests to certify that they are symptom-free by taking a quick and easy online questionnaire at or before check-in. Just show us the final page – either as a screenshot or on your phone’s web browser – to let us know that you/your group is good to go. For the safety of our guests, guide, and community, guests who exhibit symptoms that have been linked with COVID-19 – fever, cough, trouble breathing – or who have been in contact with someone with the disease in the last 14 days will not be allowed to join the tour.

Mandatory mask-wearing.

In compliance with French regulations, we require that our guests bring their own masks and wear them covering nose and mouth at all times. Masks may only be taken off to eat. We’ll even provide envelopes where you can safely store your mask while eating to avoid placing it directly on a surface.

Distancing.

In establishments where we sit down, tables will be arranged to comply with French distancing regulations. We also ask our guests to do their best to maintain a safe distance between themselves whenever possible and be sensitive to the fact that different people may have differing levels of comfort with people outside their household.

Sanitation.

Hand sanitizer will be available to guests at all times during the tour and we encourage frequent use – especially before eating. In establishments that we visit that have bathrooms, hand washing is also available. We’ll also have sanitizing wipes to wipe down surfaces as needed.

Individual Servings.

Tastings will be portioned out individually for each guest and handed directly to them by the guide or server. Guests will not be sharing off the same plate.

Paperless Tours.

Our tours have always been paperless and we’re reinforcing that commitment! When you pay online and receive your confirmation via email, there’s no need to print your tickets. After each tour, we’ll send you an email packed full of information about all of the places we went and the things we tasted, as well as recommendations and any other resources and information that we talked about during the tour.

For Your Guide

Symptom-free.

I will be taking my temperature before each tour and commit to not working if I show symptoms. I am also using France’s contact tracing app, Stop COVID, to help notify me if I have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

Mandatory mask-wearing.

Masks will also be worn at all times by your guide, in order to keep you safe. It will only be removed when eating and drinking.

Sanitation.

Hand sanitizer will be used frequently during the tour, especially before touching food or after touching surfaces like doors. Sanitizing wipes will be used to wipe down tables.

Taking Responsibility.

I take the health of my guests, my community, and myself very seriously. I reserve the right to make changes to the tours to adapt to the changing situation and to ensure the health and safety of everyone. Anyone not complying with the health and safety guideline set down here will be denied service. I encourage you to ask questions or say something if you feel uncomfortable at any time during (or even after) the tour. I also reserve the right to cancel tours or suspend ticket sales if I feel the current conditions pose an unacceptable risk.

For Our Local Partners

In Line with French Regulations.

All of the local businesses we visit take health seriously and are committed to following the regulations set forth by the French government in regards to mask-wearing, distancing, and sanitation.

Symptom-free.

We promise local businesses that we will only bring small groups of symptom-free guests who are also following the safety regulations.

Our local partners take health and safety seriously, too.

If you have any questions or comments regarding our COVID-19 policies, please feel free to email me at jessica@tasteoftoulouse.com. Thank you for your support and cooperation during this time. We look forward to welcoming you back in Toulouse soon!
